That book is so good. The cover got me to buy it, obviously, but it was my introduction to a world of Scalzi I was never aware of.

How many journalists at a single publication should write the same story?
February 5, 2025 at 11:06 PM
It's not about superiority and there's no need to break out the internet lingo buzzwords. There's no harm in encouraging people to be kind. There is a website very similar to this one that's known for the type of content you're looking for however.

The subtext is that you seem to be disregarding nuance. There is no dispute that oligarchs hold power over all major US media. But that doesn't mean you're accomplishing anything by cyber bullying a social media management intern who's just trying to do a job.

Should the journalists that don't cover US politics be fired from all publications?

Maybe we could all just try to control our emotions and remember there's real people on the other side of screen names you scream at. Or at least there's a cat there typing and he does have feelings as well.

Let's be honest, they're going to campaign on "Hey look, we're not as bad right? C'mon guys."

It's been a recipe for success thus far.

I get paid at my job. It might just be a cat thing but I assumed it applied to all workplaces. Do you not get paid?

Do you feel the empty message that was sent will be worth the repercussions?
February 5, 2025 at 1:02 AM
It doesn't seem that the interest is stopping us from existing. When money isn't real but human suffering is, call me crazy but I tend to lean towards empathy as opposed to fiscal thought exercises.
February 4, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Yes. That's what I meant by we don't build budgets to advance civilization.
February 4, 2025 at 3:44 PM
Because we can? Basic human (and cat) empathy? It's not like the US is hurting for money, but we unfortunately don't build federal budgets around the advancement of civilization.

This is simply about causing suffering for the sake of causing suffering.

There's probably some validity to that question, but I don't see how there's a connection to Starlink. How would low earth orbit satellites interfere with voting?

Instead of just renaming it and moving it to another admin portal. This is a win.

I don't need to see the litter box to know you really kicked a turd on the rug with this one.
