The dangers of November finals in #USports, now with alt text.
A three box of pictures from the USport Soccer final between the York U Lions and the Mount Royal Cougars. In the first picture you see staff clearing the ice and snow from the lines of the field with what appears to be a chisel! In the second box, many fans can be seen in layers of clothes that seem unable to protect them from the elements which are raining/snowing down on them. In the final box, two soccer teams face a field of ice and snow in an exceptional final.

An Olmec roller toy with wheels(!). It is in the form of a Jaguar and made of fired clay. Many Mesoamerican Indigenous folks made toys like this for their children.

The Big Potato at Moxon's Country Farm. A giant, ten foot tall, paper mache potato with tiny stick figure arms and wire fingers and a cute little top hat. It is brown with slanty black eyes and a big dipper shaped mouth and is covered with "eyes" like a potato can be from time to time. There is a sign to the left of the Big Potato. The stand on which the potato sits is covered in pumpkins and other gourds. There are so many that hey have spilled off onto the ground around the stand. In the back ground there are some cars parked to the right and in the far background another pile of pumpkins can be seen. The sky is blue and clear on this mid October day.

And now a few words on decorum and "keeping it classy" from some Yankees fans.
Mookie Betts, World Series Champion, being attacked by New York Yankees fans in the 2024 World Series, which Betts went on to win. The drunken fans have interfered with play and grabbed Mr. Betts' arm and glove in an attempt to stop an out. One of the goons seems to be in a grey Yankees away jersey while the other goomba is in a classic Yankee pinstripe.

The fake stone and large windows are covered by what appears to be a photo shopped Spirit Halloween sign, normally put on vacant shopping locations but now perfect for a stadium who's team has been eliminated from playoff contention.

A bank of clouds at sunset where the sun is setting behind the photographer. The tops of the clouds are bathed in a deep orange light. Like the top of an iceberg the bright part of the triangular cloud is cut thru by the darkness below. So many shades of grey lead down, ever down to a twilight sky that is already being lit by the harvest moon. Tendrils of cloud surround the moon which is reflecting much more yellow than orange light. The twilight sky is streaked with clouds and visibility seems endless. Glorious nature all around us.

A beautiful scene from small town New Brunswick, this time in Lakeville. The photographer has taken a twist on sunset pics by placing the sun behind them. The light is brightly shining even though it is low and is throwing long shadows that include the photographer them self. A pillar cedar is in the foreground on the left and is lit by the sun. A dirt driveway emerges out of the lawn and joins the road. The back of a stop sign can be seen at the roadway. In the back ground are some homes and a forest scene with vivid fall colours. The sky is cloudy and the light from the setting sun illuminates only it's preferred clouds. The sky between the clouds is blue with no sign of dusk yet.

Rare the Saint John is hotter than Fredericton, now with Alt-text!
A tall sugar maple stands behind a smaller maple tree. The larger maple's leaves have changed colours and are red, orange and falling. The smaller maple in front is mostly still green leaved. More trees are in the background and a parked car's hood can just be seen in the foreground. A very well groomed paved trail runs next to Lily Lake at Rookwood Park in Saint John New Brunswick. A hand rail is in the foreground to the left of the photographer and the lake is to the right. A light post guards the end of the handrail. The path after the handrail is lined with maple trees in the process of changing color. Reds and oranges far outnumber the greens and yellows. Some folks are out enjoying the bright sun on this late September day at the park. A view across Lily Lake and at the beautiful fall colors. In the foreground is a park bench hidden under the dappled shadows of a maple tree that is beginning to lose its red leaves. Some evidence is strewn around the rough ground near the bench. The lake seems rippled by a breeze that must have been appreciated by those in attendance at Rookwood park on this hot, by Saint John standards, September day. Beyond the rocky far shore of the lake is a forest scene meant to capture the eye. All the shades of fall are present to delight the optical sense. A view of a fountain in a small corner of the lake. The sun is just out of view to the right of the photo but its power cannot be contained. Bright shafts of light penetrate the edge of the picture and a clear blue sky that has only the trace of clouds far in the distance. Some power lines mar the beauty of the forest scene of fascinating fall colours. A few light posts stand ashamed of their ineptitude compared with Sol! What a lovely day at the park.

A New Brunswick autumn river view. The sun is shining from behind the photographers back which is illuminating the tops of the waves which are shimmering as if filled with magic. A large boulder is in the foreground, dominating the image for a moment. It is built like a right angle triangle that some Norse God has taken a swipe out of on top. A baby boulder trails behind. Water grass and cattails line the waters edge as the river gives way to the forest and finally the eye falls on the colors of the Acadian forest for which our province is so famous. Birch and maple, ash and oak are mixed with spruce and fir, pine and cedar. The leaves on the hardwood are a wash in color. Reds, oranges, yellows and greens mix in the with the evergreen(and occasional blue) of the soft wood species. The sky is clear and blue. A beauty of an autumn New Brunswick day in one photo.

Spectacular Nashwaak colors, now with alt-text!
An idyllic New Brunswick trail running along former railway. Small gravel packed down by years of walking and biking leads the user thru a beautiful fall scene of mixed forest. Maples, birch, ash and oak are mixed in with pine and spruce and all the colors of fall are visible. Reds, oranges, yellows and greens create a vibrant palate for the eye to wonder upon. There are also wild flowers, shrubs and grasses at the edge of the forests. A more picturesque walk is rarely taken.

An announcement post from Enbicon(Fredericton's annual gaming and comic convention) The Enbicon logo is a Red Dragon flying away from the viewer and it's tail is a stylized "E" which is followed by the rest of the word, NBICON. A homemade Donair loaf made of multiple ground meats and spices. Slow cooked to 160 degrees internal and resting before being cut. The foodie in charge did a great job of adding moisture as they slow roasted to keep the loaf from drying out. You can clearly see that there is some slight crisping of the outside of the loaf without it being dry. Mouthwatering! A composed Donair with what appears to be shredded leaf lettuce, sliced onion and quartered cherry tomatoes. What appears to be feta cheese is also detected. All of this is covered by what must be 8 oz's of meat and a liberal coating of sauce. The pita is a very large 12 inch size allowing for this amount of meat stuffing!

An epic example of early 90's Much Music television experience has Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Rick "The Temp" Campanelli and Red1 of the Rascalz appearing together on the screen. Bret Hart is looking super cool in a long black leather coat, a white v neck and his signature slick back black hair. Rick the Temp, so called because he won his job in a reality show type deal, is sporting a red and black sweater with a white stripe across the mid separating the colors. His hair is spiked and bleached. His hands are pointing and even in the still you can tell they are always moving. Red1 is in a blue leather coat. He has a long gold chain hanging well down his chest, a grey t shirt, some flash earrings and what looks like a knitted cap. Just some fantastic Gen X/early Millenial memories here.

A fantastic panoramic of a sunrise over the Wolastoq river. The sun is just breaking the tree line on the far(north) bank of the river and the brilliant rays of sun are brightly reflected on the water. The sky is a blend of oranges and yellows down low and light and dark blues as you look up in the sky. The reverse is mirrored on the still water of the river. The Bill Thorpe walking bridge is visible on the far left.

Two long lines of twenty plus porta potties create a row of relief at The Harvest Music Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick 2025 edition. It is a dusky scene and the sky is purpling fast as the sun sets and the music and good vibes grow high. The green and grey porta-johns are accompanied by portable hand sinks that line the center of the row of relief. Tents and lights can be seen in the background along with, of course in Fredericton, many trees.

An Eastern Garter snake is out in the open on some crumbling asphalt. A smol snek with brown and tan checkerboard pattern and a cute green nose. It seems surprised and is slightly coiled up. A few pine needles indicate the snake is rather small, likely no more than 20 centimeters.
