Working on a smart watch project for students to potentially do. These GCA901 round displays are crazy cheap now. Just managed to get this one and the touch working with and ESP32S3, now to start designing a PCB and housing for it.

A little project just for our last class of the year, the kids drew their own circuit and decorations onto a copper plated board, we stripped off the extra copper with some ferric chloride, then connected our LEDs and battery.

That's a Lolin S2 mini, I get it because it has native HID so I can run circuit python on it and the kids can just plug it in to any computer and have the code ready to go. I do it with RP2040 Zero as well.

The charger is this one, I'm not sure if it has a name, it can boost to 5-12v too

This week I've got the kids making and coding these LED displays. Just a 16x16 neopixel matrix, an esp32, and a battery with charging circuit.

So we got the robots balancing... more or less!

Now the kids just have to get the remote controls working and we'll have the RC balance bots in the bag.

I've got a few of them, never had 1 die. Nearly all have had the screens mysteriously go dark and need replacing though. Not bad as they've all seen about 5-6 years of rough service.

Making 15 ESP32 powered remote controls for the kids today. They're going to control the balancing robots theyve been working on.

Everything fits in the submersible my students designed. Camera and serial connection to the umbilical work.
Just need to perfect the waterproof end cap, which will also mount the thrust motors.

Students wanted to make a submersible so I've been working on this.

Testing out the ballast system, thrust, and the electronics to drive them. Looking good so far.

Diaphragm pumps for the ballast are so fast, shame they can't run in reverse so need two.
