www.nytimes.com/2024/11/21/m... Wicked was one of the best musicals ever saw in cinema in all my life! Highly recommended
‘Wicked’ Review: We’re Off to See the Witches (Gift Article)
Cynthia Erivo is the strongest draw in this splashy, overly long movie, which is the first installment in a two-part adaptation of the Broadway show.

Anything Ray Kurzweil says will never actually come to pass even close to when he imagines it will . Go read stuff that’s been written by him. It’s like reading a Guide to everything that capitalism will never achieve in your lifetime.

Kat Tenbarge interviewed me about the migration to Bluesky among journalists.

It's easy to see why it's happening.

It's easier to find news, harder to spread disinfo, trolls don't drown out the good content, and links are not deprioritized.

It's a breath of fresh air for journalism to thrive in.
Journalists flock to Bluesky as X becomes increasingly 'toxic'
Journalists are finding more readers and less hate on Bluesky than on the platform they used to know as Twitter.

Part of yr preparedness for mass deportations, if yr a US citizen, can be psychological. Think about what you might do if confronted w/ an ICE raid. Get informed about possibilities, yes, by game out yr own possible responses so you're not frozen or making them up on the spot. Don't be romantic.

Human nature is in reality rather different to what Neo-Liberals, Libertarians and Thatcherites claim it is.

Johnny Marr is one of the great guitarists to me . He’s got some feel , lots of emotions in his playing. Not heavy side of guitar feel, but he’s got magick .

I had a weird thanksgiving. But the show must go on ! Recently I’m very eager to like, somehow magically find some new talent to collaborate with musically (on a rock project). I wonder if I’ll ever find treasure in this Regard

I think Ray Kurzweil is one of the biggest idiots on planet earth at this point. Post covid his entire theory on “futurism” is just preposterous sounding
A Scientist Says Humans Will Go Backwards in Time Within Just 5 Years
It'll certainly take some work.

I think many people really underestimate how likely a new pandemic is to occur in the next four years.
Even if you think of a pandemic as a once-in-a-century event, that's a 4% chance over the next four years. And I think in the world we live in a pandemic is far from a once-in-100 years event. 🧪

For starters left-leaning people couldn’t live in a bubble even if we wanted to because we live in an inescapably, violently conservative society. And second of all I don’t think a website that’s become an online Nazi rally really broadens anyone’s horizons
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?
