This is Ukraine... When Ukrainian defenders found his body, the last message was not from him, but from his cat. For three months, drone cameras flying over the front lines quietly captured their friendship: a soldier hiding in the rubble sharing the food with a stray cat. Amid the gunfire and silence, they were seen together: the man keeping the cat warm in his jacket, the cat lying on his chest. Paramedics found the body of this Ukrainian defender. Inside his jacket, they found a message: "I know they are coming. I will fight for my friend, I will do everything I can to keep him safe. If you can, please leave my jacket here: winter is coming, and the cat will come to warm up. If you can catch him, his favorite food is blue canned food." The defenders who found him kept their promise — this cat now lives safely among them. A living testimony of a kind soldier who cared for the weaker souls more than his own life. "This is the pinnacle of humanity: even if you face death, you remain human."
