Can I brag for a sec? I asked students in a mid-semester eval what I can do to improve the class and one of them wrote:

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Sometimes I get so upset at all my open tabs I just close them all. I'm not sure this is a healthy relationship.

As a junior faculty, I would email senior faculty to reach out and make connections. Their advice and attention were super valuable in my TT journey. Now, as a senior faculty, I'm reaching out to junior faculty to connect with them. Helpful or intimidating?

I have recently (in the last few months) been on about how unnatural and joyless most #AcademicWriting feels to me. In 2025, I'm pledging to use my writer's voice for comprehensible and relatable (and joyful!) projects.
