Single payer healthcare seems like a reasonable, sustainable, freedom enhancing (not tethered to your employer) solution to a universal need for a functioning, growing society that has basic belief in a better future for humanity. It'd prolly help, anway.
Was that you just using my post as a springboard for you to recite your favorite critique?

Do you think my post represents an argument in favor of neoliberalism?

This style of governance took a long time to break from, and I don't think people want to go back to that kind of thing. It was pretty ugly.

I prefer the problem of maybe helping too many people and taxing the wealthy a bit too much. That's an acceptable problem. I'll take that problem any day.

I still can't really fully internalize that he's the actual, in reality, head of the FBI.

This is the best one I've ever seen.

That's a good cat. I like that cat.

"Malaise era" lol.

Tesla is a subsidy selling company. That's all.

I thought the cybertruck proved that they're not really into "design" or "cars (and trucks)"

Their standard models were exciting to people (not me) but not because they were particularly special cars.

Now their "meh" is showing.

Troop = a group of soldiers.
Troops = refers to soldiers.

It's a quirky kind of thing.

I think it's interesting to interrogate the numbers. What you're reminding me about is what 500 troops/soldiers means in terms of boots walking the streets. Does some local command absorb the administration/logistics part or is it a free standing battalion?

(Troop in the singular is a group size.)

Finally. We need more of this.

Why they're presenting this as an actual argument is beyond me. Throw it in a footnote. It's not a real defense.

The Hot Rock (1972) is family friendly and a fun multi-heist heist comedy and a delightful Zero Mostel entry with a perfect "here's my card" bit which I will rewind and watch 5 times and laugh every time.

You gotta. You just gotta. (And Brubaker (1980) b/c it's just a good telling of that story.)

Was looking for someone to mention "The Electric Horseman" (1979).

Must.
Watch.

But, my true favorite Redford recommends are:

Brubaker (1980)
The Hot Rock (1972)

I have. Idk. I know we're in a weird settling of the medium (like 100 years of storytelling in the medium) but I'm looking forward to a new pantheon of stories.

Idk. I think it's more "Rich Bitch" (derogatory) than "Cunty" (complimentary).
