honestly the bits where Andrews rambles about masculine/feminine virtues/vices are contenders for the most insane shit in the article. also shoutouts to Sargeant, who also has bugfuck insane ideas, having to correct extremely an basic misrepresentation of facts

Later on she drops this absolute bomb following the same notes about ambiguity

It's basically "loyalty oaths to the US are good because they're unambiguous, which is masculine. wokenes is bad because it's ambiguous, which is feminine"

Again, what the fuck, how are these words someone can spill out of their mouth

Like I don't know how else to describe what this freak is suggesting here

pretty much, yeah. still supermajority approval but different amounts of inter-party bleeding

3: The Hundred Line (2025)

i find myself lacking the words to accurately describe how i feel about this game. it has joined the pantheon of my all-time favorite games ever. genuine masterpiece, anyone with even a bit of interest in visual novels should play it

2: Final Fantasy IX (2000)

oops this took a while to update! decided to give FF9 a look after FF14 7.2 and i ended up absolutely *loving* it. sublimely written, especially for an EN localization from 2000, amazing presentation, and a lot to say about the fleeting nature of life

they've projected it, yeah

Obama's is pretty stark and i remember people talking about it a lot, but Clinton's progression from 1992 to 2000 is also kinda shocking

defense spending is not most of the US budget, it's not even the top category. a lot of defense spending also isn't MIC stuff, it's...veterans' benefits. the VA.

Ballotpedia's chart of state-level government control does a pretty decent job at showing just how bad the state-level damage from 2010 was. by 2017 Dems had trifectas in only 6 states, and even after they recovered in 2018, a bunch of states are now GOP trifectas for the foreseeable future

"mauled" doesn't really quite capture it, 2010 was an absolute bloodbath at every level. was pretty much the end for the vast majority of Dem reps/senators who represented "ancestral Dem" areas

not pictured: the GOP managed to *win the Illinois senate race*

pundits like to talk about Trump's approval relative to now in his first term while ignoring that his approval is already being ground down without much having really happened to the average person yet

1: The Naked Gun (1988)

good comedy movie. much like Airplane! i'm pretty surprised how little of it has aged badly (though boy did the parts that did really make me uncomfortable). best gag was Frank walking in front of the wall + door prop
