I'm so sorry to be dunking on two separate dumb articles today but OH MY GOD
Olivia Nuzzi loved him. She loved the politician, even though she was a political reporter and he was then a presidential candidate she had written about. She loved his eyes, “blue as the flame.” She loved that “the sight of something as trivial as a rose” could move him to tears. She loved his insatiable appetites and his “particular complications and particular darkness.” But she said “I love you” only after he said it first. He called her “Livvy” and wrote her poems. He said he wanted her to have his baby. He promised to take a bullet for her. This is what Nuzzi writes in her book, “American Canto,” never naming the politician who readers will deduce is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

My kitchen light was flickering so I took the cover off to change the lightbulb and this was what I found. I have never been so terrified. What even is this? I don't even know what words to search to find out how to address this light fixture.

I do not feel that I truly love a book UNLESS I plan to reread it. Love (or 5-star rating), for me, means "this is so good that I will want to read it more times in future."

A book that can be re-read is a special kind of book. As an author you learn certain tools which can keep readers turning pages—little cliffhangers and mysteries to be solved. You can put a murder on the front page and then tell the reader they’ve got to keep reading if they want to find out who did it and why. But there are certain books where even if you’ve already solved the murder, even if you already know how it’s all going to turn out, you still don’t mind reading it again because the pleasure there isn’t really the ending but rather the journey (though the ending has to be great, too—that’s another lesson I’ve learned as a novelist—if you don’t stick the ending, the rest of it unfortunately usually doesn’t matter).

unfortunately I have just read ACOTAR which means that it's fresh in my mind that the fae pretty quickly debunk the story that they can't lie

I presume TikTok has incorporated this into their theories, which sound very important and legitimate
