We use Sirsi-Dynix Horizon, and at least the way that our consortium is set up, circ stats only have "current year" and "all previous years" categories. So I run reports and use the opportunity to check for inevitable data entry errors and interesting patterns.

On the first day of Stats-mas, the database gave to me: 47 children's new books miscoded as adult new books.

Currently, if your library has Hoopla, lots of Sandman titles (and other comics) are licensed for patrons to check out. But folks should encourage their local libraries to develop graphic novel and comics collections - our purchase and sharing of physical books isn't limited by licensing quirks.

This dovetails with my theory that all men add 1-2" to their height on dating platforms, and women underestimate theirs by the same. It could also be conscious - after getting flack from several "6 foot" guys that I ended up being taller than, I changed my height to 6ft to modulate expectations.

I once called because a kid got jumped outside our doors and his nose was clearly broken. The police came and arrested him for drug possession without immediate medical attention. He had asked me not to call, just to call his family. I should have listened.
