This summer, my parents and I went to Iceland - their first time there and learning bits of Icelandic culture. Yesterday, I was given an early gift to open - new pajamas, and my mom even embroidered on the top! Needless to say, the Yule Cat didn't get me.

Listen, I just dreamed that I walked into a tree and a twig got into my ear and popped my eardrum and while I know that is an objective impossibility, I don't want to move that ear off the pillow, just in case.

Sometimes I feel like I have seasonal depression like a Van Gogh painting. The world is full of color and light, and I happen to be the spot of absolute neutral in it.

The relief of walking outside to find it's 28F (-2C) instead of the -2F (-18C) it was yesterday. Doesn't even feel cold in comparison.

I follow so many smart people and cool organizations on here that it's making me think I have to post *meaningfully* on here. Like, can I still post random thoughts and weird stuff? Or is bluesky for really making a point in whatever your area of interest is? Help a girl out here.

When my brain and I are having a disagreement, I like to read a children's book. This morning was rough, and I picked up "Once in a Blue Moon" by Sharon G. Flake. What an incredible, deeply-moving story. Just a couple hours' read, since it's told in poetry, this was a perfect book to find hope.

Every summer, I am baffled by the existence of drive thru beer distributors and full service gas stations. Every winter, I understand the former and kinda wish we had the latter.

We've reached the first stage of true cold and dark for the year, which means I've begun grasping at new apps, hobbies, and office supplies searching out dopamine like a landmine-detecting rat.

While I was looking for my profile pic, I found pictures of my empty apartment before I moved in. Man, I really need to get rid of everything I own so it looks that nice again.
