I still haven't figured it out. I had to leave the conversation when it got to me posting interviews that featured a discussion of his humor and was still told it was my opinion. I sincerely don't care if people don't find him humorous-- I just want them to be aware he was attempting it.

I live in a small town in MN. People are still turning out.

He made a mountain out of what could have been a molehill and sent a clear message he's unprofessional.

He continues to harass the reviewer.

Nice! That's a me type of book!

So, this is the point AOC was making, using a phrase from Black and drag culture, but she said it while being a brown woman so you think it sounds better coming from a wordier white guy.

Does he think this is the path to US welcoming him back? 😄

Don't tell me anything, they just returned to the cenote!

This is true, but people need to bring thoughtful and open energy to it. I'm sick of seeing good books be rated lower because the reader calls a cultural thing "weird" and never questions if that's what's at play.

She also wrote A Tall Dark Trouble.

Genres decide where books are shelves, not just in a literal physical sense, but on websites, and in people's perceptions of what they'll receive. Calling a book a romance that doesn't qualify is putting it on the wrong shelf.

That's very insightful.

It's just more succinct than "The vast majority of people aren't saying..." Readers want to choose their mood, and some will never want to be bummed out, others read across genres, but almost everyone -- heh? -- wants books shelved and marketed correctly.

I know you're not necessarily saying me, but I would like to point out I read a lot of horror. It's possible someone(s) somewhere believes that no books should end sadly, but "no one is saying" isn't literal and shouldn't be taken literally.

Do people like that feel they're invincible?
