Ever have a book appear on your TBR, with no idea how it got there?

Was in a magic mood and Magic Required didn't disappoint! Set in an Ottawa-like place in a definitely-not-Ottawa future, the world-building was compelling and the characters were super fun.

Would read more in this universe. 🪄

Whenever I read an AI transcript, I'm reminded of that Simpsons episode where Reverend Lovejoy reads Homer's ridiculous vows, and they keep getting more ridiculous

Brand new game — litter box fresh!

When @jasonanarchy.bsky.social & @pizzacakecomic.bsky.social joined forces, I had to get their creation.

"Players are cats-on a mission to cause the most chaos so their human will give them food!"

So basically, it's real life in a casual card game.

It was THE NAMESAKE for me. Literally, one reader's life before that, and a different reader's + an aspiring author's life after.

It taught me how simple prose could be brilliant, and not to fear writing about your experience (also Bengali, in this case). And challenged me to write better.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Is there a thing where you associate a favourite movie with the season you first saw it in, even though it has nothing to do with the season?

With snow on the ground, I have this sudden urge to watch The Lord of the Rings movies, Galaxy Quest, and Star Trek VI.

The challenge with the speed of novel writing month* is that every third or fourth sentence you write is garbage, you know it's garbage, yet you still push through to hit the daily target.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

Went for car service and they updated the infotainment software.

Before: everything works fine!

Now: red alert notifications & a gaping hole on the screen where some app used to be.

I just want to drive without the overhead of managing a computer 🤷🏽
