Mid week. Mid month already. How is everyone doing?

I feel like we went from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds!

Can we have a redo of the weekend?
Not because it was bad…I just want more time away.
More time to write.
More time to reflect.
Less time caught in the day-to-day hustle.

Some days the win is simple:
showing up for what matters and letting the rest wait.

You don’t find time for what matters most. You make time.

And that choice usually says more about your values than your schedule ever will.

One of the hardest things in life is consistency.

Showing up, especially in small ways, takes patience, courage, and dedication.

Some days, showing up is the win.

Keep going, even when it feels like nothing is changing.

Writing has taught me that clarity comes after the mess.

Same goes for health, goals, and figuring life out.

I have to report for jury duty today.

If I get selected for questioning, I joked about telling them I’m a fiction author who uses real-world examples to write about crime.

Not entirely untrue.

Nobody told me the hardest part of writing a book was rereading it multiple times to make sure all the loose ends are tied.

My eyeballs are filing a formal complaint.

This year, I’m working on being gentler with myself.

Less self-criticism.
More patience.
Less absorption of the chaos around me.

Self-love feels like a good place to start, and maybe a good thing to pass on.

Day 2 of the year and my only resolution is still “be a little more reasonable with myself.”

So far, mixed results.

Most New Year’s resolutions don’t fail because people are lazy.
They fail because they’re vague, oversized, and built on motivation instead of systems.

Small, boring, repeatable habits win. Every time.
