What Trump Is Really Doing With His Boat Strikes www.nytimes.com/2025/12/05/o...

Whenever I read an article concerning Trump's unpopularity, I can't help but think about the fact that there's still one out of every three Americans who is OK with what he and his administration are doing.

Pritzker responded by directly addressing Trump: “Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. You are neither wanted here nor needed here.” Pritzker really lays into Trump, and argues that Dems have to do it more, in this @talkingfeds.bsky.social 1 on 1 interview from last week
Pritzker and Gavin Newsom are the two people taking it most directly to Trump these days, & they are clearly getting in his head. I asked Pritzker about this directly, as well as a series of Qs going to the Dem brand.

Everyone needs to listen to J.B. Pritzker's speech in its entirety. Gov. Pritzker is pointing to an alarm that has been ringing for some time now. We, in turn, must answer that alarm.

Rec’d it as well and it found its way in the trashcan. #junkmail #gerrymandering
🧵Got a flyer in the mail today about the CA redistricting proposition.

The flyer calls it an untransparent power grab by Sacramento politicians, says it is wrong to gerrymander. It fails to note that it is fully transparent, voters can say yay or nay, it is a response to TX, & non-partisan...

This is such transparent BS.

Either you're too stupid and / or ignorant to see the larger picture of what's happening, or you see it but are too much of a coward to do anything about it.

Pick your poison.

As far as I'm concerned, the American People are on a two-year probation. If things don't change radically for the better by the midterm elections, I will seek a change in venue because we will no longer be the "land of the free, home of the brave."
What if Pam Bondi did decide to open an investigation into why I stopped posting on Twitter? Would the legacy media treat it with outrage or with skeptical bemusement?

Or would everyone just look away and hope it doesn’t happen to them next? www.democracydocket.com/opinion/im-n...

Trump wants to turn the White House into his personal palace. Everything he does screams, "Whadya going to do about it?!"

Well, America?
A $200 million ballroom, and now this. He doesn’t ever plan on leaving.

The two most dangerous threats to this democracy: Russell Vought and Stephen Miller. Trump is the front man, but Vought will destroy the government while Miller builds the ovens.
REPORTER: The president is revamping the Rose Garden for a second time, he's spending billions of dollars to overhaul a 747 that will be used for Air Force 1 for possibly a year. Are you concerned about that spending too?

RUSS VOUGHT: We have a lot of priorities. We need to spend in areas.

NO WAY the Trump Administration should have ANY oversight over state elections. This malfeasance must be fought at every level in every state.

The Justice Department is looking at criminal charges against local election officials who don’t “safeguard” their systems. And yes, it’s as bad as it sounds.

Much more of this, and I may have to part ways with the Grey Lady. Not a good look, NYT!
They can make excuses all they want, but this should be pretty embarrassing for @nytimes.com.

Unless, of course, the point was to do a hit piece with a smidge of plausible deniability.
If Mamdani’s college application was newsworthy, the decision of a major newspaper to print hacked materials provided by a white supremacist seems a *bit* more so.

The only discussion here going forward should be about the NYT’s journalistic failures and political biases

As a late Boomer, it's way past time fir my generation to get with the program or get out of the way.

My first presidential vote was for Jimmy Carter, and I've supported every Democrat running since.

Unfortunately, my peers spent the past 40 years with their heads firmly placed up their backside.
For all the boomers in my mentions yelling at how young people are dumb, a word:

When you were young, young voters did not turn out.

It's not any one generation. Young people don't vote. They didn't when you were young. Or when I was young.

That's why this is so remarkable. They got us beat.
Probably the very last person to post this, but holy shit.

This is unheard of. I don't think I've ever seen an election where youth turnout exceeded middle-aged, much less elderly people.

Clyburn represents the worst of the Democratic Party Sclerocracy: out of touch and utterly unprepared to meet the moment.
Agree with all the complaints about Clyburn's intervention in NYC and the absurdity of how he got to endorsing Cuomo.

My Q is ... why? Why does he need to attempt to swing Black vote for Cuomo? What possible upside is there?

One word to describe the Democratic Party: sclerotic.

Dozens of talented, effective young leaders, trapped under a blockage of ancients who lack the skills to meet the moment.

That's been the republican raison d'tre since Reagan, and there have been millions of lower/middle-income suckers who take the bait every time.
There’s been a lot of drama from House Republicans today, but it boils down to this:

They’re working around the clock to cut taxes for billionaires like Elon Musk while gutting Medicaid and vital services that benefit all Americans.

It’s Exhibit A of the Great Trump Betrayal.
