Pt 2–Without controls and regulations, capitalism inevitably evolves into oligarchy. Americans deride Europe’s democracies as ‘Socialist’ for governance over their economies. But America is becoming the oligarchical kind of capitalism quasi democratic Russia and China switched to from communism.

Pt 1—American intelligentsia abdicated on an important duty. They stopped talking about guard rails on capitalism. Europeans recognize better than Americans that in democratic republics the free market is a quest not a reality.
