So true. I work with someone that couldn't spell mom backwards. But they were made a supervisor and now make six figures. No college degree.
I've met so many white guys (and a few women) who got jobs they weren't qualified for just because of who they knew. They learned on the job & think that everyone has it so easy.
Nobody walks into an interview begging, “Hire me because I’m Black.” We walk in saying, hire me, I’m qualified. Hire me, my degree cost the same as everyone else’s. Hire me, I earned this and I need a job just like anyone else.
