When he's not [socially-desirable activity], you'll find him [edgy sport hobby thing.] He currently [ha! a restless one!] splits his time between [large, expensive city] and [small, expensive niche place]. Represented by [agent? PR firm? parole officer?].
At least a third of UX problems could be solved if people read and followed this excerpt of Apple's *1987* Human Interface Guidelines. (And the first org that should take this seriously is 2025 Apple, whose writing standards have dropped dramatically.)

Was poking around the HFX GO app and found this screen - with placeholder text ("refund policy content"), legalese (pro-rated consumption fee) and lack of clarity. While I'm venting, I'll paraphrase the original Apple Human Interface Guidelines - if your application involves text, hire a writer.

Oh, come on.

This would have been an even better version of Miami Vice.

A better "trashing hotel room" story than most 70s rock bands could muster:

Yesterday's sea raven.

The slightly incredulous tone here is bonkers. I'd say that if you keep your phone notifications off a lot, *and* manange to win a Nobel Prize, you should probably keep doing that.

This why you use a professional translator, even for a single word.

(Hint: "monnaie" means mint as in coin factory.)

Bonus of living in Halfax is spotting the odd European RVs and expedition vehicles beginning (or ending) their adventures. Usually they're overspecified armegeddon wagons, rather than this cool Hymer camper, with French plates (and *tiny* wheels).

Was prompted by this article to look at the "Ticket Viewer" utility which I will confess never knew existed.

Someone worked harder and thought more about the old icon for this app, that basically no-one will ever use, than the entire set of new app icons.

Sometimes IMDB actually *does* select the good quotes from movies:

Yikes - we're number 1!

(And it's really a Cessna Caravan, not a 727.)

Uh, tracing bank transactions is a major plot device in pretty much every le Carré novel.

I'm shocked, shocked, that Japanese drivers don't want to buy left-hand-drive Hummers.

If eveyone one in the school knew he had a private jet and stuff it would have really changed the dynamics of the show.

Strong mayor.

If the International Atomic Energy Agency ever sells merch, I'm totally buying this jacket.

Obligatory: "Boy, they're really socking it to that Spiro Agnew guy again. He must work there or something."

Doing cottage shed cleanup, and found this great packaging.
Not sure how old, but looks like they cost 90 cents…

Oh god why do I ever read these things.

Can't understand why kids don't want their parents' collectibles. They really got Neil Armstrong's eyes right.

This feels like the beginning of a video game.

Heard a racket as I was walking by the harbour and saw a Cormorant search and rescue helicopter doing hoist practice with a Coast Guard resecue boat. Fun ride on a sunny day.
