Isnt this an expectation of using first past the post in wards?

Im asking for an opinion. Isnt that the point of this site?

Im not necesarily opposed to changing the tax structure to address inequality.

I just dont see any evidence that that would also raise significant revenues.

Which proposal specifically do you support?
December 6, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Then what do you propose and how much does it raise?
December 6, 2025 at 7:19 AM
None that would be acceptable to you at least, or thats the impression I got.
December 6, 2025 at 2:31 AM
Right. But not that raising that amount was bad by any means.
December 6, 2025 at 1:58 AM
Then you don’t support raising the kind of money this poll is asking about.

There’s a similar political consensus for malapportionment here in BC. Even the parties that are hurt by it don’t want to be seen to be anti-rural.

I'd really like to see a study that look at district size (both geographic and population) and dif electoral systems. Would an at-large muni of 100k behave differently than a municipality of 1 mil divided into 10 wards? This comes close but isn't really there.

I suspect it depends what we're comparing PR too as well. Single member wards have a really negative track record on housing.

My guess would be that PR would be intermediate on housing construction outcomes between at-large and wards.

John Horgan suggested this in 2013 actually. People in Delta will come for you with pitchforks though.

The 64 mil number was in 2021 before the costs went nuts. I think around 120 was expected so still not 180 but yah.

I think its just a complex project and building costs are sky high.

Can you ask him about the police withholding crime stats to help his mayoral campaign and what accountability there is for that?

Which version of ranked choice voting?
November 24, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I dont understand why the Democrats arent playing the dementia card here.
November 23, 2025 at 7:51 PM
This is evergreen.
November 18, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Not really. You describe a likely outcome but thats it.

Proportional representation is not a term most people are familiar with.

Bob Mackin at one point made up 40% of all FOI requests in BC. Any idea how much of this drop is attributable to Bob alone?
