The "us vs. them" dynamic of fascism encourages MAGA activists to view their political rivals as the enemy, justifying unethical distortions of the truth that dehumanize others - inviting violence against them.

When you aggressively assert executive power to change the content of museums to make an ideological point about how great America is, you may just be fundamentally misunderstanding the whole ideological point of America.

The Dems and their allies need to think outside the box. They are spinning their wheels when they should be easily getting traction against Trump 2.0. Here is a free idea for a creative political communication team:

MAGA elevated Trump as their tribal totem. They can’t separate their own interests from his. Because they assume these interests are synonymous with the interests of the nation, they undermine pluralistic democracy and enable (even require) authoritarianism.

How many conservatives who gleefully criticized the hesitancy of liberals to deviate from "woke" orthodoxy are now scared to criticize Trump in public for fear of the wrath of MAGA? They "bravely" refused to use preferred pronouns. They should be at least as brave to refuse Trump's authoritarianism

In 2009-10, Tea-Party activists raised hell because they didn't like the bank bailouts or Obamacare. The relentless pestering of Congress helped flip the House to Republicans in 2010, halting Obama's agenda. It's time we begin such hell raising. A lot more is at stake this time.
