I cannot understate how good an educational tool Pokemon Gen1 was for us as children.
When you think about it, the game taught very important skills and life lessons necessary to survive in our modern world.
Reading, math, puzzles, problem solving, even the concept of navigating a digital interface.

It dawned on me Pokemon Red/Blue was actually a really educational tool for children. It taught extremely valuable skills for the information age we live in.
- Taught concept of navigating a digital interface with buttons

PCs have become commodity devices controlled by someone else. Microsoft generously allows people to use the PCs we buy, but retains ultimate control over what features get installed or removed.
It doesn't have to be this way. Computers used to be fun. Linux takes me back to simpler times. #Linux
