Pierre Christin has passed, the writer of so many great BD over the decades. I especially love his collaborations with Enki Bilal, and The Hunting Party is one of my all-time favorite comics.

This just arrived in the mail! The very first reprint of Manhunter from 1979, in a black & white oversized format. Goes will with my 1980s Baxter reprint edition, the 1990s Special edition with the new story, the recent Deluxe edition and the IDW Artist Edition.

Got some Larry Gonick books in the mail today! The United States volume is to help my daughter prepare for her AP US History exam. The Modern World volumes are because I've never read them and Gonick is such a great comic book illustrator, storyteller, and educator.

Finally got it! I considered the Omnibus briefly but it had a whole lot more in it than I wanted (the Blackhawk HC has the same issue - I just wanted the Chaykin mini). Hopefully a HC deluxe edition with just the Fleisher/Aparo stories will be released, but in the meantime I’m enjoying this.

Dove right away into Philip Roth’s Zuckerman Bound after finishing Everyman and it’s even better than I remember it. It was the first Roth book I ever bought and read, and reading it in my 50s instead of my 20s has been illuminating and invigorating.
