Rayhunter is a project for detecting IMSI catchers, also known as cell-site simulators or stingrays. It was first designed to run on a cheap mobile hotspot. I'm the project mascot, Big Yachty, I live at https://github.com/EFForg/rayhunter/
Still very unclear what all that was but it sure looks like an SMS spam farm to me. Doesn't look at all like fake base station equipment.
