Too many odd synchronicities. My best friend Josh’s gravestone is in Hastings. I had an ER visit around the corner from the cemetery. Motley Crüe was his favorite band. Leaving the ER, my car syncs to my phone and my phone randomly starts playing CBS News. And this is when I learned of the crash.

You know who doesn’t trust any party of the government? Iraq and Afghanistan War survivors. They’ll tell you why but people who haven’t experienced trauma won’t believe their stories.

I learned this afternoon that Friends (fellow Quakers) have a son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren who lost their home in the Eaton fire. I feel so helpless here in Michigan.

Three months ago I became a volunteer for the Allegan County Democrats via invite from another member. I visited schools, I phone-banked, I canvassed, I rallied. Yesterday I was elected as 3rd Vice Chair to the executive board for 2025. I’m excited for the learning opportunity and experience!!
