My body is rebellious, so today I'm taking a moment to breathe and geek out. My latest rabbit hole has been the manuscripts of the Duke de Berry. During his life, he had commissioned seven different manuscripts. This one is La Belle Heures, and was one of the early works of the Limbourg brothers.

Robinet d'estampes, brother to Isabelle, also was treasurer for the Duke de Berry! Words he wrote on Belles Heures survive!
It clearly inspired him to commission the one for his bride, Marguerite.

Home from 12th night.
It was one of those rare events where I didn't have an obligation beyond seeing my friends and family. Some deserving folks got some amazing awards- Vivant!
