Yeah I think it's just bc oncology recruits some of the best. My spouse had a reoccurring cyst and had to go through oncology to finally find someone skilled enough to do the surgery correctly to prevent recurrence.

Also I'm sorry it brings up bad memories. It's a tough place.

We all know how much they hate the educated and by definition scientists are that.
Further scientists are generally pretty anti-fascist.

I'm sure they'll try.

Exactly this. Work for it. If you want the spot - earn it. Be better.

And no this isnt just about Taylor Swift. This is about the rise of people who think they're entitled to things just for showing up.

Lol I mean one could argue there is an enrichment for neurodivergent individuals in science and medicine so perhaps you're on to something lol

Exactly - they want an excuse to go after anyone not white. They were stuck on Latin people and now they've expanded to black people. They'll add in more ethnicities/races as they go.

The goal is anyone who isnt white and who disagrees with them (including white people eventually) is a target.

That's the one place where AI is useful to me. I am largely self taugh at coding only having learned in practice what I need as I need it.

AI has replaced my need for a dedicated person for coding. My basic foundation is enough to do it alone now.

That's the thing, because it makes so many mistakes and assumptions (at least with irregular human data) I have to do the analysis both ways (the new AI way and the old way) to check the results.

Clinical trial data and pre-clincial (non-human) data is messy. AI doesnt know what to do with that.

As a cancer researcher, I also hate AI. It has *some* use in my worklife but it does make more work for me in the long run (at this point) bc it's very unreliable.

Seriously. We just bought one like a week ago. So disappointing

Did this once at the library in grad school. It was a center staircase that went from the downstairs commons area where we all hung out/ ate lunch to the library and where the buildings were connected.

It was such a visible and hilarious fall.

I did get married. Then I moved away, got a PhD, and now my spouse is a stay at home husband and we have no plans of having kids.

We live a fantastic life and they (our conservative family members) hate it.
November 19, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Oh and they teach their daughters (me) these same chosen ignorance-based ideals.

They hate women. Truly. And any woman who breaks their mold of self-inflicted limitations is bad.

Bc in the end, women like that love hunting witches too if it puts them above someone else.

My little traffic stoppers.
Also "Dog-calling" is hilarious.

The left baby was our malamute/wolf/husky mix. We lost her at 17 earlier this year and she was the most lovable striking pup.
Right is our baby husky-pitty mix and she's our sassy little love bug and basically a cat.

I am ignorant to any recent updates but I think in part yes, but in part if real, it would have been revolutionary.

Most VC dont really understand the science they fund beyond superficially, & biomed funding has always somewhat been built on trust. She exploited & tainted that trust.

I've always wondered who the target audience is. I cant imagine these commercials are helpful for patients.

It seems so expensive for just targeting doctors and scientists, but they do help me keep up with new approvals outside of my field lol

For the record, I dont believe the autism community is a monolith or that autism is categorically good or bad.

I find some aspects of my autism to actually be preferable - but I have relatively low support needs most days.

However, I would never speak for those with higher support needs.
November 16, 2025 at 6:28 PM
It's not just autism. It's anything that is deemed as "bad health."

People want to blame everything but genetics for every malady so they can pretend they have control over their lives.

Oh you only have heart disease bc you're fat, cancer bc you smoked/didn't eat right, autism bc whatever.
