Priest, family woman and some-time scientist. Into environmental and social justice, inclusion, community-building, quiet windswept places and good food!
By complete chance, the perversity of using Christ’s kingship as a justification for exclusionary policies and anti-immigrant sentiments was a key theme in my sermon today…

I keep thinking of those wonderful stories on “Repair Shop” where people hung on to their most precious family treasures when escaping persecution by sewing them into coat linings. So cruel to stop people from keeping the things which bind them
to their roots.

It’s all so deeply depressing and - to me - indefensible. I have no words for David and the many other people whose lives and loves are being diminished by this cowardly decision other than “sorry”. I am ashamed that my church is inflicting such pain on those it should be loving and celebrating.

We always seem to have Priest ordinations last week of June and Deacons first week of July. Guessing that historically it’s been necessary to split them because numbers in a very big diocese mean multiple services for each.

I assume it’s to ensure that the post-resurrection story including how the disciples were empowered by the Spirit and the church was born is told coherently (Acts is essentially an extension to the Gospel) But you can have both Revelation and John as long as you have Acts as well (i.e. drop Genesis)
