Staggering - the effort and resource *still* being invested in keeping the Brexit shitshow on the road.
No one’s held to account.
No one’s fallen on their sword.
No one’s got the guts to really speak out.
So, on we go, protecting this huge and ruinous lie, because telling the truth is too difficult.
"The 2016 decision to exit the European Union has been nothing short of an economic disaster... It’s a bigger hit than if every bank, brokerage firm and hedge fund in London were suddenly to disappear." ~AA
👏🏽"The President and the Brexiteers share a fear of strangers... Trade, in [Trump's] view, is other countries draining our wallets. Immigration is other people stealing our jobs. International treaties are handcuffs limiting sovereignty." 🎯~AA

Could prob accept some pretty draconian small boat policies if there was a genuine safe route policy alongside it. So far we have no details at all.

If a Prime Minister is brought down by being too cruel on asylum policy - which is not the most likely option but feels plausible right now, which is new - what does that do the debate? Is it too much to hope that draws some kind of line?

His success lies in him talking shite. If he can’t do that, he becomes v dull v quickly

Economic policy is one thing Nigel Farage can’t crib from the Donald Trump playbook | Rafael Behr
The Maga model, based on the US’s exorbitant market privileges, can’t be imported to Britain. That’s going to be a problem for Reform UK, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

Convinced that most British people want to live in a functioning, decent country where government improves stuff and everyone can thrive.

The vast majority want nothing to do with this imported hate and atmosphere of violence directed at people just trying to live their lives.

Article argues there’s no need to mention Reform’s racism as the Brexit shitshow is failure enough.
But that had its roots in racism too. So let’s do both.

In the naughties I thought the same.

For half of the next decade I thought the same.

Then came Corbyn & Brexit & I stopped thinking that

Now I find myself actively repelled by Labour on Immigration, Palestine & Brexit
