Took me until mid-May to publish my first blog post this year. For the very best reasons!

The Transformation of Fatherhood
Fatherhood is a continuous evolution, a daily practice in presence, and perhaps the most profound journey I'll ever undertake.

Since joining @buffer.com, I've been more active on social media than I've been in years. The team's energy is infectious, and I found myself posting more on LinkedIn, Threads, BlueSky, and Instagram. But with that came an unexpected challenge.

I used to roll my eyes at the AI hype. When my previous workplace announced “Everyone needs to use AI now,” I felt like following a trend rather than solving problems.

Here’s how I went from being sceptical to embracing AI tools:

How I Finally Made AI Work for Me
From skeptic to advocate: How I discovered the right way to integrate AI into my development workflow by taking ownership and focusing on amplification rather than replacement.

Two weeks into my new role at @buffer.com and I'm genuinely blown away. After applying 3 times over the years, I finally got in as a Senior Software Engineer. And honestly? It's everything I hoped it would be and more.

Here's why 🧵

I need some help from the Laravel makers:

I have an almost fresh Laravel 12 application, added Laravel Fortify to it and now want to update the page the user lands on after successful auth.

So I updated the 'home' in config/fortify.php and it works after login but ...

I'm late to realize this but I'm reaching so many people on LinkedIn, would have never thought that. Yes, it also attracts lots of spam but even without, it's a quite useful channel

I’ve improved the website that I created for my little macOS app
Offset - Time Zone Menu Bar App for macOS
A macOS menu bar app that helps you quickly check your colleagues' local times across different time zones.

Vibe-Coding in a language that you've never learnt is fun until you hit an edge-case that AI just doesn't get.

Today @steipete.me and his blog post saved my ass

macOS has some weird issues 😅
Showing Settings from macOS Menu Bar Items: A 5-Hour Journey | Peter Steinberger
Why something as simple as showing a settings dialog from a macOS menu bar app took me 5 hours to figure out, and requires 50 lines of code for what should be a one-liner.

Just published my first macOS app - a menubar tool for checking teammates' time zones! 🎉

Wild part? Fully native SwiftUI despite never writing Swift before. Claude Code helped me learn & ship it. AI can be easily used as a tool for learning new stuff!

So excited about the journey ahead of me 🤩

It’s harder to get the app published on the App Store than actually developing the app 😅

There was/is an AWS outage? If it wasn’t in the news/socials, I wouldn’t even have noticed. Not working at the moment has its benefits 😂

Remember the MacOS app that I mentioned I was building using AI? I’m actually thinking of getting it published 😅

What follows straight after the baby was ill and is now starting to feel better? Yes, I’m proper ill now myself ☠️

Really cool thing that coding using AI made possible: I was able to build a small native macOS app in just a few hours. All Swift and SwiftUI without ever having been successful ever before

This is how sleep stress levels look like if your little one is ill 🤧 👶

You are basically not sleeping

Anyone here using Claude Code together with XCode? What's a good setup to make developing iOS or MacOS apps with Claude?
October 5, 2025 at 1:13 PM
The best thing about coding with Claude Code? It doesn't say "I told you so" when you dismiss it's suggestion but end up going back to it 🙈

Recently got a recommendation to try out @meetgranola.bsky.social as a companion to take meeting notes.

I don't think I can ever go back to any other tool for this task. www.granola.ai
Granola — The AI notepad for people in back-to-back meetings
Granola takes your raw meeting notes and makes them awesome. No awkward meeting bots - just beautiful notes for you and your team, every single time.

Like every weekend of every season, I’m sitting here wondering if I’ll watch enough games to justify the price for the NFL Gamepass. And like every season, I’ll keep wondering until it’s too late 🙈

And as a dad it’s even more unlikely that I’ll get to watch many games 😅

Hey @christophrumpel.bsky.social, I remember that you were building a menu bar app to track timezones of your buddies. Is that app available to the public? 🙈

Finding Myself Again
After losing my sense of identity, I spent weeks rediscovering who I am beyond my roles as a dad or husband. Here's how I found my compass again through mind dumps, running sessions, and asking myself...
