After I had my second baby, I was so tired and decided I was going to allow students to lead the conversation about their work to bridge the school-home gap. Attaching the OG template and several iterations it’s seen since. #heymrsbond #Edusky docs.google.com/document/d/1...

📊 #Students' #grades should represent their current location in learning, not an average of performance over time. Where they *were* isn't as important--only where they are right now. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #UDL #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL #sblchat

Maslow Before Bloom applies to the adults too! We have feelings, we get tired, we get stressed, we get overwhelmed & sometimes beaten down. We have to take care of the adults so they can take care of the students. We have to make self-care & wellness a priority every day!

This: in 2025 and beyond, I am definitely reminding myself that "writing = job skill" needs to be de-centered in my own communication to students

Instead: agency, thinking, understanding, reflection, joy.

And so much more.
Passing thought. Selling writing in school as a way for students to secure future opportunity was always a losing proposition. It's an even bigger loser now with ChatGPT, et al... Need to get students seeing how writing is a valuable and enjoyable experience for NOW. A way to practice agency.
