rarely something, always another.
Despite all of this someone will take this job, and be excited about it. That doesn’t make it ok or right. The Patreon subscribers have real power to make their opinions known and push for the change they think is right. 9/9

All of this is of course part of a much larger issue in the industry (and most/all? industries) taking advantage of employees at the lowest rung. Nothing will be fixed overnight or by one job posting but we can do better by being better than those who took advantage of our hunger and desperation. 8/

I think a big part of everyone’s disappointment is because we respect Recho and the work that she does, and we expected her to respect those that work for her. Through this job listing and video, and doubling down of it all she broke that social contract. 7/

In reality the idea that they had no help is a fallacy, a story they tell themselves and others to build their brand and power. If you do become successful they will claim you as a trophy and tell others is all because of them. You won't be where you are without their help. 6/

At a larger company this *might* be tolerable with coworker camaraderie, on a small team it’s utterly demoralizing. A boss like this has no interest in being a mentor. They expect and require that you and you alone figure out how to get ahead. They hustled without help and you should to. 5/

Because they believe wholeheartedly that they are good communicators they DO NOT respond well to follow-up Qs. They think they are a waste of time, a sign that you didn’t listen/don’t care, etc. and will let you and everyone around know how they feel about it and how they feel about you. 4/

What I want to talk about is the phrase “I don’t hire people who can’t take simple instructions”. In my experience this phrase means that the person believes strongly that they give clear instructions, but in reality they are poor communicators who expect a whole lot of mind reading. 3/

A lot has been said about the salary, lack of benefits, high barrier to entry, 3 jobs in 1, etc. What I want to talk about is that being a good boss is hard. It is a skill that must be learned and practiced. 2/

Audience question asked about Colleen and Greg if their romance was real, and Colleen says she was covering for another island relationship? *JUICY* 5/

Rich is defending Rudy for being "un-pc" because he's from a different generation. Bryant follows up with he's a "legitimate hero who gave 45 years of service to his country" Everyone cheers for him again. I forgot how popular he was with the public after the show. 4/

Bryant asks Rudy "if the experience on the island changed any of {his} preconceptions about the sexual orientation of individuals" Rudy: "nah", and the audience and contestants cheered and hollered. smh. 3/
