I have no experience with it and haven't looked into it so I can't really say. I don't know of too many high-quality games that have shipped on it yet, but I'd certainly look at it for a small project. I think more engine choice is a good thing.

There's definitely a commentary track on Escape from New York -- it's mostly Carpenter as I recall. Tons of interesting insights into the filming and all the creative shortcuts they took due to budget, etc.
