That is why I have three "free" sports streaming apps and two backup websites to watch my sports. Based on the amount of people complaining about issues watching the World Series via legit means, I can get the same product or better via other means.
The two streaming apps I do pay for is my limit.

I assume some of it comes from the fact they've played something like a third of their home games already. That obviously doesn't take into account quality of competition but that might be why some people think that.
