a poem i wrote last night

obviously this is just about weather, no other possible meanings
growing up in this climate sometimes you learn to fight the snow and ice. sometimes you learn the best way to deal with this deathly cold is with salt, with sand, with chemicals. and sometimes sometimes you learn to approach the ice with blades and the freedom of it all is worth the bruises, scrapes, broken bones picked up along the way. sometimes you learn to defy gravity, no laws pinning you down, as you cut the ice, dancing, with each step, each leap, each sharp halt upon its frigid surface. sometimes ice is a danger that stays long after the snow melts and the world is burning around you. sometimes it is a storm with such reach there are no safe climates. sometimes the same methods of dealing with that ice are necessary then for the feeling of freedom. still worth all of the bruises, scrapes, broken bones every drop blood spilled a stark reminder of each lesson learned when we didnt turn our tools upon the ice.

after Ranma, it's Mizuki, then maybe Sesshōmaru. tough call - there are a lot of very Gender™ characters I could go with.

Sakubo is a player character from The World R:2, a MMORPG set within .hack//G.U. & its spinoffs within the dot Hack franchise.
