at least with something like pokemon after 25 years it actually let ash for the most part accomplish his goal and move on to a new group of characters who have no connection to ash whatsoever.

with how the third season handled Optimus being brought back as a half alive zomble and then killing him off again in the most brutal way possible it's no wonder the finale ended up bringing back to life again properly.
