I like that in Bengali there are sensible classifications within the category "hot":
jhaal = green chilly/red chilli powder
moshla = spicy (I.e. coriander/cumin/garam masala/combination of all)
jhaanjh = mustard oil, horseradish etc. This one's my favourite tbh.
