Still early but the first week she’s there it’s clear that Rhysand isn’t just an asshole. He’s an ass that cares. Love it.

That’s a good question. I can understand if there is a large story arc, and epic that can’t be told in a single book. However, I still believe a single book in said arc doesn’t need to be 1000 pages. If this is a multi book epic, that only makes me feel that shorter books are very doable.
