Mostly thoughts on books. And Magic the Gathering. And food. And cute animals. Oh and gay things.
There is a careful, deliberate magic to answering the most pressing questions from the first book and adding even more mystery in the second. You keep me satisfied and desperately yearn for more. That is this book. Near perfection. 4.76/5⭐️ #TheStrengthoftheFew #booksky

I was utterly confused for a good portion of this book. What an absolute mess. And so much fun. I can’t explain it, but despite the chaos, I had a blast reading. Just don’t ask me to explain the book - because I won’t be able to do it. Well at least. 4.25/5⭐️ #TheAnarchistsCookbook #booksky

I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a book. So excited that I actually paid full price which I never EVER do lol #TheStrengthoftheFew #booksky

If you loved the first book, be prepared to be have your expectations flipped. This mostly a growing love story that you can’t help but cheer on. The last 20% had me furiously page-turning - left slightly breathless in anticipation of things to come. 4.5/5 ⭐️

A fairy tale in many ways but offers the adult reader much more than whimsy and magic. #ACourtofThornsandRoses offers a deeply satisfying look at human frailty and emotional bonds that stretch beyond fae or human-all of this wrapped in exquisitely penned, poetically elegant prose.4.5/5 ⭐️ #booksky

Ok let's see what all the fuss is about. 🤔 #booksky #acourtofthornsandroses

If you were to ask me what this book is about, I'd stare at you blankly - I have no idea. There was very little plot to chew on. The character development was sparse. The prose felt oddly staccato. An overall laborious experience. 3/5 ⭐️ #booksky #thebladeitself

Please tell me #thebladeitself gets better as you read more. I'm 15% in, and I'm really not vibing with this book. It feels so slow. 😐 #booksky

Ok starting my first #joeabercrombie novel - #thebladeitself. He has been very hyped up on my reading feeds. I hope I like it #booksky

If you want a page-turning, high stakes space opera, #LeviathanWakes is your book. It was entertaining throughout with decent character development that made me care about the MMCs. Miller was tragic but oddly compelling. Not deep by means but a fun ride nonetheless. 4/5 ⭐️ #booksky

Ok so 15% in on #leviathanwakes and this thing slaps. A lit page-turner. They should make a TV show out of this 🤔😉

I’m been craving a space opera, and this might scratch that itch? #booksky #leviathanwakes

The prose. The story. The sorrow. The humanity. All of it can be simply summed in a single word: “beautiful.” 4.25/5 ⭐️

Actually, a better palate cleanser would be #impossiblecreatures ? I think something fun and whimsical might be what I need after reading about an apocalypse. 🤔#booksky

I need a palate cleanser after reading about the end of the world. How sad is #songofachilles ? #booksky
September 21, 2025 at 12:58 AM
This was simply too long. 900 pages 😳 A word of warning - this book is very bleak. You’ll need a palate cleanser after this. Also, this book leaned very political and hit too close to home. The last 10% was worth the long trudge of the other 90%. Almost.

One of the best series I’ve ever read. It was moving. Exciting. Incredible pacing. Very few slow moments and everything felt brisk. Best part of finishing a series is if the author sticks the landing. And he did. It was heartfelt. Memorable. And oh so satisfying. 4.5/5 ⭐️

August was a decent month for reading. Red Rising was an absolute banger. #booksky

#redrising had excellent pacing, and I was hooked for the entire ride. Darrow, being filled with fury and vengeance, doesn’t come across as simple and unidimensional. He’s complex. Relatable. His anger is justified and wants his oppressors to burn - and you want to see him succeed. 4.5/5⭐️
