MacOS experts: pros and cons of upgrading to Sonoma 14.4 vs. just installing the latest version of Monterrey 12.7.4?

Hardware is a MacBook Air (M2, 2022), 16GB memory, lots of room left on the drive.

I took this from the Bridge of Flowers, the former trolley bridge, looking over at the Iron Bridge. The Iron Bridge carries all the road traffic. A shot along the Deerfield River, again from the Bridge of Flowers.
