it was Karl Dönitz that got leniency on sentencing in part because of testimony from Nimitz on the allies doing the same thing.

IIRC, crunchyroll's Kill La Kill dub captions don't seem to have any idea what a "Senketsu" is, among other things.

underrated funny aspect: a "jack & jill" bathroom is one that connects two bedrooms.

this room connects zero bedrooms.

like i'm aware of how bad this sounds, but my point "cop shot during traffic stop" cannot actually be wholly attributed to the traffic stop as a dangerous activity independent of being performed by a cop.
December 2, 2025 at 2:44 AM
It occurs to me that if the people writing traffic tickets did not have any authority to investigate real crimes, drug runners would have less motivation to shoot them.

Sure, but if you have to tell the AI to make it bad, that's an indication that someone who has no reason to intentionally make it bad didn't use AI.

her writing skill is well below average, even for a right wing propagandist.

I skimmed through it at one point and they had some essay justifying it (though it did not justify why these people would be in a party together)

this was about rolling normal things like height, weight, race, and what race you're racist against though, not the sexual stuff it's known for

I suspect they don't want to break people's redstone contraptions that rely on typically furnaces to stop piston movement.

would be nice if they made it a gamerule though, or just a tag for blocks that can't be moved.

If it were *just* about Joyce she would have had no reason to confront Daisy. This clearly does actually matter to her.

they should have made minecarts chunk load the same way they did with ender pearls.

maybe only when moving to avoid having mineshafts cause Problems.

the real hilarious thing is that if you look into the history, there was no bathroom at all in this space during the Lincoln era. The original half bathroom was removed in 1824, and the entire space was office space until the west wing was built in 1909.

If 'black president in media' is the marker (not saying it shouldn't be), an earlier and less problematic version is Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact (1998).

it says cruel *and* unusual. there's lots of precedent that cruel *or* unusual is fine, though mostly on the side of the former

four things

i call it the potato problem: you can plant a potato, you can eat it, you can feed it to a pig, or you can put it in a chest.

hmm what if instead of a conventional hotbar there's a hierarchy where mouse wheel selects between action types, and each action type has its own 'hotbar' of 4-5 items that you can scroll through with shift-mousewheel

I suspect this is partially overgeneralization of the two eras of consoles [one consisting of basically just the N64, and one consisting of the most recent couple generations after manufacturers gave up and started using commodity hardware] where you can just do source ports, if you have the source.

ok yeah that's definitely what was going on here; the auto captions still say it's translated from Russian, and the Russian caption track is actually in English.
October 13, 2025 at 5:03 PM
I've heard of this happening but I assumed that the algorithm just guessed wrong and assumed it was in a language other than English - I haven't witnessed it myself so I haven't had a chance to check the menus to see what language it thinks the original audio track is in, if it's selectable.
