hey, don't "so you hate waffles" me here. My point is simply that I don't see how Frosty is any better or worse than Rudolph, Jingle Bells, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, 12 Days, Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, etc etc.

BS is literally a song written for babies, simple and very repetitive on purpose. FtS has multiple verses and is pretty comparable in musical complexity to many other Christmas carols, especially the novelty ones.

Yeah, the family is rightfully suing the school for their completely outrageous handling of this, but the dad lost me when his response to his daughter punching the perpetrator was “I do not approve, she should not have laid hands on that little boy” rather than “he got off easy”

maybe I'm built different, but it doesn't seem that hard to both know that the TSA can be very ridiculous sometimes, and ALSO know "don't joke about having a bomb in your suitcase at the airport"

I wonder how much of that is due to "pop culture stereotypes" that got formed 1970-1990 and haven't been updated - I bet many people would be shocked to learn LA has subway and light rail, which have existed for three decades now

an upgrade I can recommend is Souper Cubes, silicon freezer trays that are great for freezing broth in 1-cup (or half-cup) blocks! Then I just stack a bunch of those bricks into a ziploc and I have easy portioning for later.

or for any recipe that requires chicken broth - I have virtually stopped having to buy canned stock after developing this routine. Just pull out a frozen Costco carcass and a frozen bag of veggie tailings and throw it in the Instant Pot in advance of the week's cooking!

it's also the same kind of bad-faith comparison we saw recently with people ranting "why aren't libs as mad about Charlie Kirk as you were about your hero, the criminal George Floyd" - yeah, whether or not The Justice System exacts consequences on you is a pretty big piece of context!
