Drunk Fiction is a delight and I'm pumped for the November 25 event at The Caledonian, where I'll join literary luminaries Russell Smith, Danila Botha, and Andrew Daley for some chilly-eve reads. Kudos to Emily Weedon, Matron of the Macabre, for creating and hosting this fab monthly reading series.

Yesterday was colour check day for a little side project of mine. I'm publishing a chapbook of a sort-of-old short story to use as a test run for a micropublishing project I'm looking at starting up. This will be available when I read at November's Drunk Fiction event in Toronto.

Less than two weeks from the literary event of the summer: join Giles Blunt and company on August 6 at Noonan's Pub, 141 Danforth Ave, for the launch of Giles's new novel, Bad Juliet, published by Dundurn Press.

I worked on two of these lovely books ("The Upending of Wendall Forbes" and "Product of Italy, Made in Canada") and will definitely grab the Brit Griffin title. If you're looking for great small press books to read this fall, this little stack from @latitude46pub.bsky.social won't steer you wrong.

I think someone should model a drag queen after the Taybor alien from Space: 1999. Could call her the Slaybor. But only GenX and Boomer TV sci-fi geeks would get it.

When you're editing/revising your own work and run out of space on the page, it's perfectly acceptable to flip over the manuscript and continue on the available blank surface until that, too, is filled with your barely readable scratching.

It's another rainy, gloomy, sunless day in southern Ontario, so I got to digging through some photo archives and found this nice shot of Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, taken during the summer of 2023 on a trip to the east coast. I've always loved the area—its photography potential is endless.
