Since the rapture is making the rounds again, here's a poem about it I published a couple months ago. Maybe we should reframe how we think about the rapture.

This good boy has been a loved part of our family for over a decade, but his cancer is finally starting to overtake his pain meds, so we're going to be laying him to rest this afternoon. Thoughts and good vibes appreciated as we say goodbye.

So I'm teaching myself:

"Blink so I don't miss it."

Take time to pause, to rest, so I can enjoy the meaningful moments in my life.

"Don't blink or you'll miss it!" Have you heard that? It's the idea that we must pay attention all the time so we don't miss a moment. But this is exhausting, and it leads us to actually miss EVERYTHING.
