Recently read For Such A Time As This and genuinely loved it - interconnected short stories following a group of Black friends in London in 2020-21 ish. Explores the culture of the time amid the pandemic and the BLM movement.

Strong rec from me!!

Forever obsessed with T Kingfisher's quirky horror writing style. The Hollow Places was fun, tense, imaginative, and really had my heart going at times.

Recently read She's Always Hungry by Eliza Clark and this was an absolute banger. Using the horror short story as the base she takes us through fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary and speculative fiction and each story hits!!

I am a firm believer that the publishing industry is in need of serious reform, not just more Black books. Radical community is the only way forward. Consider this your invitation to be a part of that.

hOw DO you Read SO mUch?

At about average speed, I can read 350 pages (average length book) in about 6 hours. If I read for 2 hours everyday, which I can do before bed instead of scrolling, this means I finish a book every 3 days. At this rate, I can comfortably finish 121 books a year.

Hello #BookSky ! been on booktok for a while but wanting a non-cesspit text-based platform.

My bookish starterpack / intro:
• read all genres but bonus points if it’s queer
• favs include the locked tomb, terry pratchett, chain-gang all-stars, the last binding
• storygraph superiority

Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.
