I love working as a #newplay dramaturg because there’s just something so thrilling about sitting with a playwright and helping them dream up or clarify a whole world. It stretches my brain in a way nothing else really does.

I think a lot about Sarah Cameron Sunde’s 36.5 / A Durational Performance with the Sea, a decade-long multi-part performance project where she stands in the water for a full 13 hour tidal cycle. It feels so elemental in a way a lot of narrative theatre just can’t be.

I love that! I think it’s super interesting to think about what stories need to be grounded in a very specific moment (ie no matter when this is produced, it takes place in September 2020) and which can evolve based on when they’re produced #newplay
