After denouncing US intel for years, Trump took office aiming to shift US foreign policy in a Russia-friendly direction, away from US democratic allies and partners. So he nominated Gabbard as DNI.

52 GOP Senators agreed (or didn’t care) and confirmed.

Only patriot among them was Mitch McConnell.
Her Putinism was her literal credentials
Tulsi Gabbard was an open Putin sympathizer (Assad sympathizer too) for years before Trump and the GOP Senate put her in charge of the US intel community.

Her apparent eagerness to push Russian govt propaganda, including some that’s transparently absurd, is not incidental. It’s why she got the job.
