SNW 3x03 made no sense.

This should be Ortegas' new job. (One of the few times we see a janitor in ST, specifically in ST II.)

Given the specific dates/connections it looks like they thought the show was going to launch on October 4.

I continue to be somewhat mystified by the Summer 2025 anime Turkey Time, but I am still liking it.

On Cruncyroll, Tuesdays.

The Japanese title is basically just「Turkey!」

You must not pave our paradise which is unpaved except for this giant paved road for cars literally in the middle of our sign. And the paved driveways for cars that are also literally on the sign.

Petitions on the French government official petitions site typically attract a few thousand supporters.

The petition against acetamiprid?
1.6 million and counting.

The threshold to be considered for debate is 500,000.

NS Environment Ambient Air Quality Data

novascotia.ca/nse/airdata/

Attached are locations of AQ monitoring (black circles).

NOTE 1: There are none in the western air region (there really should at least be one in Yarmouth).

NOTE 2: Unless your town has an air monitoring station nearby, no AQHI.

Was going to say it is rare for wildfire smoke to reach as far east as NS and PEI but then I realised this may be the new normal.

If you're happy that Ottawa's Special Air Quality Statement has been lifted, please note that:

The AQHI is 5, "moderate risk".

The particle levels are *rising*, to PM 2.5 concentration 45 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) as of 11am on Tuesday July 14, 2025.
July 15, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Air Quality Sask. on east is not great and the smoke should start to hit NB and NS today I would think.

The AQ around Saskatoon is truly dire.

Blue is ok, anything else is not great. Maroon (levels over 100) is an emergency.
July 15, 2025 at 1:31 PM
I would say only blue colour is safe but it's kind of moot because there's no blue on the air quality map of the Ottawa area today.

Numbers are PM 2.5 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³).

Smoke event underway in Ottawa as of 4am Monday July 14, 2026.

PM 2.5 levels over 50 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) at the official Ottawa Downtown sensor.

Smoke is coming from the Manitoba wildfires.

This should link directly to the official GATINEAU-HULL PM2.5 sensor.

The topline number is Quebec AQI (a separate system from Canadian AQHI and US AQI). You have to look at the number under Concentration to get PM 2.5 in µg/m³.

2/2 2/2 AQ map showing Ottawa and surrounding areas PM 2.5 concentrations in micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) as of 6:20am on June 7, 2025.
June 7, 2025 at 4:29 PM
1/ As of 6:20am on June 7, 2025 the PM 2.5 particle levels have dropped from very high risk to moderate risk, but the forecast is for them to return up to the higher end of moderate.

www.airqualityontario.com/history/poll...

100 µg/m³ was very bad air quality. 32 µg/m³ is a lower risk.
June 7, 2025 at 10:36 AM
At 4pm on June 6, 2024 the air quality in Ottawa is very bad indeed. Levels of 100 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) are actually as high as the scale goes. Above 100 = "highest risk".

aqmap.ca/aqmap/en/#12...

Ignore blue AQ egg square in Centretown, clearly someone's household interior sensor.
June 6, 2025 at 8:16 PM
1/2 At 3:21pm on June 6, 2025 Ottawa is not out of its smoke event and in fact with a PM2.5 level of 96 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³) is at the highest smoke particle levels so far for this event.

Ah, I didn't know that. You're way ahead of me. I wish the photos I post to Bluesky showed how sculptural the fluting is on the Bell cylinder. It seems like Bluesky doesn't like my JPEGs, something in the chain of compression is making them all muddy.
June 6, 2025 at 2:12 PM
If stark greys, blacks and shadows with lots of vertical lines is your thing, the Bell payphone at Mooney's Bay Line 2 platform southbound definitely delivers. In behind above it are some marching lines of fencing and light posts. /cc @ianausten.bsky.social

Image compression is muddying it a lot.
June 6, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Quebec has its own air quality index (AQI). In reading the Gov of Quebec map, note it is displaying * Quebec AQI * on the map, not PM 2.5 concentrations.

Click on a map icon and read the number under "Concentration" for the actual PM 2.5 reading.

eg Gatineau

June 6, 2025 at 12:36 PM
It is incidentally the exact two year anniversary of Ottawa's previous smoke event in 2023.

Ottawa sustained levels of PM 2.5 in the 100 µg/m³ (hazardous) range before peaking at 265 µg/m³ (very hazardous) at 8am on June 6, 2023.
June 6, 2025 at 11:03 AM
To see the real hourly PM 2.5 concentrations from sensors across Canada, go to

aqmap.ca

e.g. Ottawa area

aqmap.ca/aqmap/en/#11...

Ignore the square AQ Egg reading in Centretown which is clearly someone's indoor sensor they shouldn't be posting.

Note that the Apple Weather app doesn't show the actual Gov of Canada AQHI, it shows Apple's algorithmic guess at the AQHI based on BreezoMeter data. Right now Apple thinks AQHI is 5 but it is actually 10.

For the real AQHI for Ottawa use the WeatherCAN app or go to

weather.gc.ca/airquality/p...

2/ If you want a national-scale view of the real-time particle (PM2.5) levels from the wildfire smoke, the Canadian site is

aqmap.ca

Blue is good.

Yellow through light red is bad.

Maroon is ideally don't go outdoors at all. Run indoor air filters on high. If you do go outside wear an N95.
