There is a lot of truth here, but I have to point out that one of the problems of our time is assuming that immigrants don't share the views of the contemporary GOP. There are plenty of Indians for example cheering on the decimation of government & deportations without due process.
International students are lifeblood for US innovation.

They are 75% of all foreign-born founders of venture-capital funded startup companies in the United States.

Many will simply stop coming, now that they face tests for thoughtcrime.

The order comes as President Trump expands deportation efforts, including of students who have spoken out in support of Palestinians during Israel’s war in Gaza.

"Critique does not have to be the premise of a deduction which concludes: this then is what needs to be done. It should be an instrument for those who fight, those who refuse and resist what is. Its use should be in processes of conflict and confrontation, essays in refusal." (Foucault 1981: 13)

It’s not new. The Republican right, well before Trump, had a cold-war era hostility to social democratic Europe (or “Yurp”) as unreliable, ungrateful allies. Remember "freedom fries" from the Bush years?
Serious question: Can somebody explain to me why the Signal boys loathe Europe so much? Exasperation with longstanding European refusal to spend more on defence really is not enough to explain this degree of hostility. What’s so bad about Europe? Too snobby? An obstacle to their libertarian dreams?

To say that the killing of one's enemy is justified is a perversion of Buddhism, and those who condone such acts have rejected their Buddhist heritage and have not understood the profound moral significance of the conscience of Dutthagamini Abhaya-Gananath Obeyesekere 1984 'Duttagamini's Conscience'

"...By almost every metric, the harm to civilians, including children, from the first month of the Israeli campaign in Gaza is incomparable with any 21st century air campaign. It is by far the most intense, destructive, and fatal conflict for civilians that Airwars has ever documented."
NEW: How does the scale of harm in Gaza compare to other conflicts?

Our new report presents a unique analysis of where and how thousands of civilians were killed in the first 25 days in Gaza - and how these patterns are unprecedented in modern warfare.
