Believe it or not but the very first #ElifShafak that I’m reading. I was dissuaded & not interested earlier for multiple reasons. Only just started but this one seems very much up my alley - multiple historical periods, ancient history, a common thread & elegant prose. Let’s see.

Another day & the ruins of another Ancient Wonder of the World - The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus or Tomb of Mausolus in what is now the picturesque #Bodrum in #Turkey. This gave us the word #mausoleum for overground tomb structures. The last of the 6 #ancientwonders that got 1/2
