I’m a long time gamer, D&D player,(a forever DM 😁), aspiring author, and lover of sci/fi & fantasy. I created Raise Game Fully to share my passion for lesser known aspects of D&D and to be a part of the wonderful TTRPG community.
This SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week is one of the turning points in the Lord of the Rings-the moment when Eowyn faces off against the Nazgûl in The Return of the King. This was so well done, both in the book and in the film and is arguably one of the most heroic moments in the entire trilogy.

Time once again to distract ourselves with another SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week! This comes from the dark, epic sequel to Pitch Black-The Chronicles of Riddick. This line comes from the air elemental Aereon, brilliantly played by the great Judi Dench & sets the tone for the struggles to come.

Hey! It’s another SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week! This one’s from the 2003 film Underworld and is part of a climactic end battle that ends up changing the whole story. Lucian, who is played wonderfully by Michael Sheen, has a charismatic mix of civility and rage and delivers a great performance.

Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week comes from Jules Verne and his underwater tale 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This line is from the fascinating Captain Nemo -played by James Mason in Disney’s film. Nemo has abandoned civilization and all its evils and does not lie about his dislike of it.

Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week comes from the 1994 movie Stargate. It punctuates the moment when the characters figure out the truth behind the opponent they’ve been battling- that he’s just an alien and not a god. This leads to open rebellion and liberation for an entire world.

Time for yet another SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week! This line was a big reveal/plot twist at the end of the video game Diablo II. After hours of gameplay & cinematic cutscenes we discovered what happened to the other BBEG and readied ourselves for another chapter in this amazing game.

Nothing too deep about this SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week. It’s just some good old fashioned positivity from a classic 80’s movie. Have a good week everybody!

Early D&D wasn’t just rules and dice! It had hidden Easter Eggs tucked into the art, maps, and even the names of places.

How many did you catch?

Loved Star Trek TNG back in the day. I’ve thought about using one for my SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week for a while now and I’ve decided on this one. It’s funny how this one made such an impression on 20 year old me and now that I’m older, I feel like I appreciate it all the more.

Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week comes from the opening pages of The Hobbit. It always amuses me to look back on how things started when I know how they ended up. This line shows both Bilbo’s innocence about the world and the fact that he and I place a great importance on our meals.

Time for another SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week! The weight of this one eluded 9 year old me when I first saw RotJ but I’ve come to appreciate it as I’ve gotten older. With all the wisdom inside of the Star Wars movies, this little piece remains one of my favorites.

Let’s all just take a minute and appreciate this fact! 🎃

Character backstory. It’s something we D&D players think a lot about, but sometimes not developing one can be cool, exciting or funny. Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week is an example. In Disney’s Atlantis, someone asks about a character’s background. This is the amazing response he gets!

Time for a SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week! This is from noted author and philosopher Aldous Huxley. Writing a forward to his epic Brave New World back in the WW2 era, Huxley expressed his thoughts and concerns for society’s future and a world infused with science and overreaching government.

Been into apocalyptic stuff lately- playing Xenoblade Chronicles X & watching The 100. So for this SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week I found these lines from the novel The Forge of God. They are spoken by the US president as he reveals Earth’s impending demise from hostile alien tech. Heavy stuff.

Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week is from the movie The 13th Warrior. In this scene, the Viking Herger is about to fight a duel. His friend, Ahmed, is worried for him and points out that Herger’s opponent is both younger and bigger than him. This was his reply.

Today’s Quote of the Week isn’t technically a Fantasy or a SciFi film but I feel it’s close enough. This moment in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is the point where the student reveals that she’s more advanced than her master. It’s a powerful moment and it alters the course of this amazing film.

This SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week is from the Star Wars novel Heir to the Empire. Not only did this great book continue the story after Return of the Jedi, it introduced one of my favorite and best-written villains I’ve come across: Grand Admiral Thrawn. This was his introduction to all of us.

Today’s SciFi/Fantasy Quote of the Week is from the amazing movie, The Dark Crystal. This quote is from the mystic, Aughra who was performed brilliantly by the incredibly talented Frank Oz. Her mixture of wisdom and sarcasm brought another level of realism to this wonderful adventure.
